City of Hartford Annual Water Quality Report

Each year, the State of Michigan and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) require regular testing of the City’s drinking water supply to ensure its safety.

The City did not meet all monitoring requirements for 2025 due to the following issues:

1. In August 2025, water samples for TTHM and HAA5 were taken from the wrong testing location. Because of this, the results could not be used for state compliance. New samples will be collected in August 2026.
    
2. In October 2025, water samples were collected and tested correctly, but an incorrect sample date was entered on the paperwork. Because of this clerical error, the results could not be accepted for compliance purposes.
