Voting

One of the fundamental rights of our democracy is the right to vote. Any U.S. citizen who is at least age 18 on Election Day is eligible. But before you can cast a ballot, you must register. Voter registration forms are available at any Secretary of State office, online at the Michigan Voter Information Center at Michigan.gov/vote or from your local clerk.

• 3 Council seats and Mayoral seat will be up for election November 4th, 2025. Petitions can be picked up at City Hall beginning May 15th and can be returned no later than July 22nd at 4pm. Those looking to run for one of these open seats must be a resident of the City of Hartford and a registered voter. For any additional questions, please contact the Clerk.
